Friday Night Party

Some serious guitar talent will be featured at our  party on Friday Night, July 27, at The Brown County Inn.  There are two stages of live music throughout the evening. We will have many of our competitors rotating through the open mic stage, and Cari Ray & Chuck Wills providing some great tunes.  Like great music? “Listen Local” to these amazing artists!!

The Corn Crib – 8:30 – 11:30 – Featuring Daryl Shawn

Standard bar and menu, no cover charge.

Town Hall Room – 6:00 – 10:00 – Featuring 15 Guitarists

Cash bar and BBQ available. $5 cover charge.

Saturday Competition

The competition will start at 11am, and will feature 20 of the best players in North America.  Each will take the stage to play two songs of their choice.  The final 5 competitors will be announced at the end of the afternoon competition.
Tickets to the competition are also good for the film at 2pm.

Saturday Night Concert

We will feature the Top 3 Winners of the Fingerstyle Guitar Competition, and are proud to have three magnificent artists to finish the evening concert –   Jack Wilson, and Tim & Myles Thompson

– VIP Tickets $32.50 each

(VIP ticket seating is reserved in 1st 4 rows, and includes a $40 voucher for future BC Playhouse events).

  • Jack Wilson 2018 Concert Performer

    Jack Wilson is an accomplished guitarist from the Chicagoland area. He is the 1st place winner of the 2016 International Fingerstyle Guitar Competition held at the Walnut Valley festival in Winfield, Kansas. (He placed 2nd in 2015.) This contest is considered, by many, the Olympics of fingerpicking.

  • Tim & Myles Thompson

    Tim and Myles Thompson have been inspiring audiences throughout the country. With recent performances that include the Montreal Jazz Festival, Walnut Valley Festival, Sisters Folk Festival, Pagosa Folk ‘N Bluegrass Festival, and the Chet Atkins Festival, they have polished their craft to a fine luster. The duo has opened for Spyro Gyra, Don Williams, Mountain Heart, Richard Elliot,  and are doing many 2016 tour dates with Wynonna and the Big Noise.

Acoustic Uprising Film Premiere

We are very proud to announce the US Premiere of the documentary Acoustic Uprising! Directed by Drew Roller, this film explores the innovative world of Acoustic FingerStyle guitar featuring interviews with many leading players including Andy McKee, Kaki King, Newton Faulkner and Tommy Emmanuel. The Acoustic Uprising looks at the rich history of FingerStyle and the fusion of musical ideas the style has become known for. The project was funded in 2015 on kickstarter.com and has been a 2 year journey for Melbourne based Roller Coaster Productions.

The film will start immediately after our Fingerstyle Guitar Competition on Saturday July 29th, at approximately 2pm.

Ticket-holders to the competition and evening concert will be able to get in with their event tickets. Contact the Brown County Playhouse box office for details.
